‘Kill switch’ smartphone bill voted down by California lawmakers

On Thursday, the 'kill switch' bill - proposed by Senator Mark Leno, a San Francisco Democrat - was voted down by the California lawmakers. The bill, which needed to garner 21 votes in the California State Senate for passage, received a vote of 19 to 17 in favour.
